Dear Queero,
LED Queens will be shutting down its e-commerce store on June 30, after six vibrant years of serving the LGBTQ+ community.
I am Cesar Torres, the owner and founder of this business. Since 2017, I've embarked on an extraordinary journey, during which I've had the privilege of serving our community by designing and manufacturing the queerest, proudest gym gear in the world. As you and I know all too well, fitness spaces and the fitness industry often underserve or outright discriminate against our community, making the mission of LED Queens particularly meaningful to me.
Why am I bringing the LED Queens story to a close? Because all stories have an ending. I started LED Queens as a spinoff from my published sci-fi novels. With eight books under my belt, I've learned that each story deserves its proper conclusion.
LED Queens is concluding on a high note. This marks our second year as a profitable business. However, the demands of running the business create constraints for me as a creative individual. My plan moving forward is to complete the release of Hall of Mirrors, begin to work on the next book in that series, and to take some much-needed time off as an entrepreneur.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to you for all the love and queerness you shared with me as an LED Queens customer, also known as a Queero. Your willingness to present your authentic self at the gym and throughout your fitness journey gives me hope for a brighter future.
I have always marched to the beat of my own drum. I don't follow trends, and I don't make decisions based on external validation. As I look forward to my next chapter in life, rest assured, I, just like you, will continue to keep it queer.
